Obsu Hirko defended his thesis

On Thursday September 10, 2026 Obsu Hirko successfully defended his thesis entitled: "Effects of land use on water quality, flow variability and smallholders' water security in headwater catchments - an interdisciplinary approach in southwestern Ethiopia"

Obsu got scrutinize by the opponent Ulrik Ilstedt from SLU, Umeå who among other things asked him about possible mechanism for the link between forest cover and base flows in streams.

We celebrated with nice injera and wott in DEEPs lunchroom in the evening!
